Savy Guthrie, founder of Theoderma Skin care is a dermatology PA with 15 years experience treating all different types of skin conditions ( 20 years in medicine overall). A native of Philadelphia, PA-born to Greek immigrant parents, Savy holds a Master’s Degree from The University of Nebraska in Physician Assistant Studies, a Bachelor’s Degree from Drexel University in Physician Assistant Studies and a Bachelor’s Degree from Temple University in Physiology.
She is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and has attained Diplomate status by completing a rigorous dermatologist-developed course program. As a healthcare provider, she integrates her holistic approach to medicine with scientifically backed treatments to achieve optimal outcomes for her patients and as a cosmetic injector uses her artistic gift to create natural facial rejuvenation.
The consummate student, she attends dermatology conferences/ seminars continuously, always looking to advance her knowledge and skill set. Her foray into product crafting began in 2011 when she encountered relentless skin irritation that was resistant to all her treatment attempts. Even “natural” products didn’t seem to help. It was then that Savy discovered a hidden truth in the industry. That natural products can be contaminated with undisclosed chemicals and ingredients. Beyond frustrated, Savy decided to just tap into her chemistry education and creative nature to formulate her own products. For years she did this with great results but witnessed her patients struggling with the same frustrations she had faced. Asking her for products that she was using and how they could get them, Savy decided to start her own product line.
That was the birth of Theoderma- a natural premium product line that is certified by both Leaping Bunny and Vegan Action. From the Greek meaning God-Skin (Theo=God...Derma=Skin) A little play on words as well since her son Theodore is called Theo. (Theo=God ... Dore=Gift)
